"The Marine Corps Air Station Yuma has its own system to warn Marines of the dangerous heat conditions in Yuma to help prevent heat-related injuries such as heat exhaustion or heat stroke, according to MCAS Yuma's Lance Cpl. Daniel Angel. The four different flags are green, meaning heavy exercise can be conducted with caution; yellow, meaning troops who have spent less than two or three weeks in our climate cannot complete strenuous activities; red, meaning unacclimatized troops cannot have physical training and others are limited to six hours; and black, meaning no strenuous physical activity, according to the U.S. Marine Web site, www.usmc.mil.
